Monzaman356 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Hello all, my beloved Casio watch has stopped working properly. The issue that it has is that some of the parts of the little LCD screen where not showing and me naturally being the type of guy to take something completely apart just to solve a simple issue led me to disassembling the whole watch. As I suspected, my problem was a poor contact somewhere between the LCD screen and the circuit board, I found that the little conductive strip between the screen and the circuit board had come loose, infact, the whole thing detached when I took it apart. Now the problem I am having is that I have no idea how to get the LCD screen and the conductive strip connected back together. Can I just use super glue? Or does it have to be something else.
bob_m_54 Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 (edited) They aren't always glued, they use contact pressure when the thing is assembled But they need to go the correct way as they conduct through the rubber, but not across it. ie it's kinda polarised as far as current flow is concerned. Have a look here, it may describe it better: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/631744/display-contact-using-foam-how-is-it-working Google Elastomeric Connector..
