It seems there are many power cables that include some kind of filtering. I  am wondering if this can have the same kind of draw backs often associated with power filters, such as dulling the dynamics.

I use a Gigawatt power filter and really like what it does, but if I were to add cables that filter I wonder if this might be too much.

One thing is for sure,  you’re not listening to mains frequency,   neither is the audio path anywhere near the mains.   Filters on power cables are there for one thing,  it’s there that the product you use complies the FCC ruling.   Usually in any audio component,  the power supply filter caps has the duty to keep any noise from the mains entering the audio circuitry and that includes digital…. I have no issues you spending big going down this path,  it’s not my money,  and even if it was it’s better spent elsewhere.

I did not believe in power cords until recently when removing my Shunyata Alpha NR from my amp after a long time. The soundstage was narrow, low when the cord was swapped over to a midrange Isotek unit. A clear noticeable difference, no psycho acoustic crap. Not a cheap cable at $4k though, it’s 10% of the amp rrp. I also use Theta NR, again noise filtering tech used in these. I highly recommend Shunyata if it suits the rest of the system, prefer this kind of filtering over powered filters such as PS Audio or Puritan … others I spoke with love powered DC filters. I have a dedicated line installed and the voltage to my house does not fluctuate heavily which helps with my application.

Have to agree fully with @Piddi -Shunyata is used on all my gear and fits my tastes very well-just wish I could apply the noise reduction to some of the posters that are bound to jump on this thread🤣🤣🤣
