Anyone ever come across these guys previously?

I'm in Singapore at the moment and while walking along the strip of shops, spotted an inconspicous (hand-written in chalk) sign, pointing up to a headphone lounge on the 2nd floor.

Feeling adventurous, I headed up, to be greeted by a bustling little showroom and factory, and made feel right at home by the young Ivan (who I assume is the owner). I should point out my visit was totally unplanned and unexpected.

Aside from doing impressions on the spot, turns out, these guys design, develop and manufacture both custom and universal IEMs, all right here in Singapore. I was given a tour, and told the story, and it's all really quite impressive! Pretty much all the local musicians (anyone who is anyone) is using FATfreq monitors, and more recently they've moved into the audiophile space. They're quite present at all the CANJAM shows too now, apparently.

The enthusiasm from this young team (20 staff, apparently) for what they do was very infectious, and I can't help but feel these guys deserve a nod of congrats and some attention on a bigger scale.

I was shown some things I wasn't allowed to photograph, or talk about just yet. But I was also shown their new 3 story showroom on an adjacant street, that is going to be epic! Complete with coffee shop/lounge, and dedicated listening spaces.

It's the little diamonds in the rough like this that really make travelling so enjoyable!

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera on hand so had to settle for some quick phone snaps sorry.

Planning on sending our local head-fi reviewer Cheryl Tan in soon for a more organised story, in due course and when they're new premises are open in a few weeks.

The Grand Maestro meant to be good. I had the Meastro SE for a bit, not bad but needed a bit more mid-bass I think. Have seen a couple have some shells crack, so hopefully they have resolved that. They have some more entry level models with some big bass tonalities people love.

Their customer relations person went MIA too for a bit there, was hard to get info from them. Again, I think resolved now though.

I got an impression it is a company that has grown super fast and they're scaling up (at least, we had a discussion about that) quickly too. By chance I will see them again at the HK show this weekend as well. I wish them the very best. Reminded me of the Jobs / Wozniak type story starting in a garage 🙂

There has been a few people that received colab versions (with HBB) that have issues with the shells cracking, chipping etc. However that won't stop me from purchasing a set once they make something affordable with my sound signature.

I cancelled a pre-order for their latest collab with that hbb YouTube guy because they were dishonest about pre-orders being shipped. I can handle disappointment, I can't handle deceipt
