betty boop Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 The Departed was one of THE first movies i actually saw on the blu-ray format, it was also the first time i saw a JVC projector in action whcih was their first blu-ray full hd projector...we were all in awe watching it back then at a forum gtg ... so some joy to watch this again this time re released on the next format of 4k uhd blu-ray and i am watching it on my very own 4k uhd JVC Nx7 projector and gosh it was quite a watch ! quite star studded a movie with also not on front billing is Vera Farmiga who is very good in the movie, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin to name a few others .... Excellent acting and with enough surprises.. Jack Nicholson is his crazy self. and the movie starts off with a turn... its so good i cant remember movies either that has enough surprises to really grab you make you jump ! good punchy audio and on 4k uhd this has come up a treat... there is grain as would be expected of a movie from 2006 but good detail and excellent colours. The black of the leather belt and holster was what we were admiring back in the day the way the JVC renders those .. still doing wonderful job the brand with projectors ! a few screen shots below so can see how it turns out on the screen. 1
HamishC Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Nice! I picked it up as well recently but haven't gotten around to watching it. The last copy I owned was on DVD. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with this great film in 4K! 1
