ray4410 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 (edited) looks very interesting with a combination of various internal wires and also screened good to see Geoff slowly getting back to what he does best. Geoffs description I think it as good as the Dragon, but very different. It uses the Dragon geometry so is an open sounding cable. But the selection of wires is very different. With two lots of solid core wires there is some added emphasis at the mid-range to the lower end. And two strands of litz in silk ere added in to get back some of the nuance and detail that the Dragon has towards the top end. I think of the Dragon as being a fairly precise and technical style of cable, and this new one being more natural sounding but still with good clarity and transparency. Cheers, Rob Hi Rob, the only R1 Dragons I have are XLR ,I got these as RCA to go between my Tt and phono stage , I was using R3CuAg for this previously. I think @ray4410 had swapped out R1 for these ? cheers Dave

Hi Ray. It would be interesting to hear your comparison between Dragon 1 and the new RCAs. I'm running my Dragons between an Auralic Mini and DIY directly connected passive LDR/Hypex 252 with great success. Dragons are beautifully balanced but a bit more bass weight could be handy in some situations. Cheers, Rob
ray4410 Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 hi Rob not really a fair comparison at the moment as i have been using the R1 Dragons for ages and the Redlines are still pretty new and will take a while to settle in but i have to say that so far i do like what the Redline cables are doing regards Ray. 1
MattyW Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 I think I may need to have a chat with Geoff about these with an eye to obtaining a pair. If more natural whilst retaining detail I imagine they may compete rather well with my FoilFlex. 1
