Dave - I've had Dali Euphonia MS4s for a decade or more - the Epicon 6s are the replacement for these.  I auditoned them nbot long after their release at Audio Connections.  To my ears they sounded a little better than my MS4s but had a very similar sonic signature - big soundstage, dynamic and great bass among other things.

I didn't think they were worth the asking price though - very$ at circa $20k.

Well to answer my question , I bought a pair , stayed tuned 😎

initial thoughts , good bass - seems deep and tight , but being rear ported had to pull them out from the wall behind and toeing them in also helped with bass and also the overall sound. Very nice top end, although early listening ,not found it to be bright with music played so far. seems plenty detail. build quality is pretty tidy.

quite a different sound to the Marten Parker’s IMG_0067.thumb.jpeg.88dd32ef64ba9fc17d7bc80c3d475dca.jpeg

Nice work Cafe!  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts as they settle in.

What are you driving them with - can’t quite make it out.

Got some new outriggers for the Epicon 6 , to replace the ungainly looking base plate. Arrived today, very well made in Germany from cnc aluminium and then powder coated - which is some of the nicest smoothest powder coating I’ve seen in a long time.  Will fit later but the last photo will show what they will look like fitted

sounds wise the Dali’s have got better with more playing - I’ve bought new speakers before , but the Dali’s seem to definitely “warmed up” in a noticeable way that I’ve not really experienced before.

The new feet certainly look better, but I was intrigued by the bases that you replaced.  Dali don't seem to show those ones on their website - and the speakers look much more svelte and stylish without them.

Looking forward to your comments once you're satisfied that you have a handle on what they truly sound like.

The big flat base plates, apparently they are supplied to comply with EU anti topple Regs, but you never see them fitted in the photos. When I opened up the speaker boxes , I thought maybe as well bolt everything up. You don’t need too - the supplied Dali  spikes can just bolt straight into the speakers.

These speakers look amazing Dave, and you picked the best colour combo too imo.

Hi cafe67.

I've also got the Dali Epicon 6 speakers. Had them for about 4 years and running with Primaluna Evo 400 power amp and Evo 300 pre amp. Very happy. I do like the look the metal stands you have shown - the first ones without spikes. I haven't been able to locate a source for these and wonder if you could possibly advise where I can get them. Appreciate any help. I'm in Sydney. Many thanks.

Hiya, just checking which ones do you mean " without spikes" ?

These stands I ordered shown here came with black plastic caps for shipping

These came from.germany from a business called BassTi

he will also set them up for isoacoustic Gaia feet

Your photo set at the top show the stands on feet rather than spikes. Have a hardwood floor so spikes don't suit. I'm guessing there is a choice in the package. I will check out your leads. Many thanks.Screenshot2024-12-15at1_25_51pm.png.6d495e7b614219d10dd8ced07a9bc80d.png

Apologies for more questions, but can you give a cost idea and is fitting a challenge!

$750 including shipping and insurance

not really everything is supplied including bolts, washers - you need an Allen key ( same size as the one supplied by Dali and a 13mm spanner to tighten the nuts up on the spikes.

I found it easiest to lay the speakers on a row of cushions higher at the bottom end of the speakers to make it easier to fit the feet.

Thanks again, very helpful. What I'm going to do first is try the Dali spikes/floor caps that have just been sitting in the box since day one! After that....?
