georgehifi Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) I read it can be done by adding something to the end of the link beyond me so I need a expert I need to make this link auto-play when it's opened, without having to press the play button??? https://www.abc.net.au/listen/live/classic Cheers George Edited October 12, 2024 by georgehifi
georgehifi Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) Waited no one came forth with any answers, so I then searched around a lot more and found a direct auto play link that the address can be put into VLC Player and it worked. This is the ABC Classic auto play link (I know it says FM in the link but it's digital, there's none of the analog noises and static you hear with an analog FM feed which I also have, I prefer the DAB+ feed buy quite a way) https://mediaserviceslive.akamaized.net/hls/live/2038316/classicfmnsw/index.m3u8 And this below is ABC Classic sent to my streamer from VLC on my Win10 computer, MP4 quality (like Apples AAC) but with no sound quality robbing Meta Data imbedded into it, that Apple's AAC has. POV Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) So far as I'm aware, the closest thing ABC provide to a direct stream is found at the below link. I think for windows it will want to open in media player not a web browser though, so not sure if that's any more useful to you than the link you have? Where can I find direct stream URLs for ABC Radio stations? – ABC Help - Australian Broadcasting Corporation Help Centre Edit: looks like you had already found that, but weirdly I only saw your seconf post after I replied for some reason. Anyways, maybe the link will be helpful for others. Edited October 12, 2024 by POV
