betty boop Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 (edited) Bridge too far, imprint release on 4k uhd ... am not sure the 4k is worth it ...its still nice as a collectors edition ... its grain manifested (folks that are grain intolerant please look away - stay away from this one)...infact after the start had me going through all projector options turning on off all sorts to see if incase had some benefit.. maybe i had some setting aggravating things or not instead ended up with just turning up the Noise reduction couple of notches... put that back to 0 after watching the movie ! i say all this as someone who doesnt mind film grain... i realise its what makes movie what it is .. but this one its a little too obvious ! not like some of other restorations we have seen..many scenes which should have taken a bit of work to tidy up were just left... one case can even see an obvious film reel flaw running vertical through frames and that has been left... its probably best we have seen this still .. colours rich and some detail. some screen shots below just of some of the characters is probably not really representative of how bad can look in some sections, for me it was still a welcome watch..good revisit of a classic...some excellent moments in the film.. its a very historic movie and non fiction so quite close to the reality of what happened.
