wen Posted January 15 Posted January 15 After reading a few reviews, the Marantz 7001 would be the pick if the repair was not too expensive, a cut above the receivers. Your speakers are also a weak link, second hand Richter's, or Monitor Audio floor standers would be head and shoulders above the Accusounds and an inexpensive upgrade. Other may give different suggestions from their experiences , all valuable.

However the Denon avr 3802. Sounded better in stereo than direct. (Although I’d have to put the bass tone control on +6db to compensate for the lack of bass) I did some reviews when I got the accusounds they were mixed however all in all they didn’t seem so bad. Are these really the weakest link? When I got them home they were definitely an improvement on what I had before. I’ll grab the model number for the accusounds this afternoon. 1
wen Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I have a pair of Monitor Audio RS6 speakers I bought in 2005, still going strong, have a read of the review on stereophile.com, they come up in the classifieds at reasonable prices, there are other good speakers, just what people prefer, these may be the start of building what you are after.
