I have Wilson Benesch Vertex. One of the most transparent and uncoloured speakers I’ve ever heard. Believe the reviews.

Posted (edited)

i’ve owned them for years .

and have opened them up

and opened up the torus amplifier .

for the money the  component choice is terrible eg samwah capacitors. . Like many so called high end brands , you’re paying for BS , snake oil, and magazine ads masquerading as reviews.

like many , i had to make the so called high end journey   and waste over $150,000 to realise 10,000 power cords etc are a scam . plenty of wonderful sounding speakers out there for affordable price . They won’t look as sexy as wilson benesch but behind a curtain u can’t tell the difference .

there is a reason you will never find a photograph of a wilson benesch crossover ANYWHERE on the web. Least that was the case before the fibonacci range

my vertex and curves and centre channel were mdf with a veneer of carbon fibre. The tweeters were from scan speak , the midrange and bass drivers were from seas .

their new subwoofer, The IgX  has  a $300 class d amplifier inside , but retails for $50,000 AUD. as an owner i’d rate them as a scam company.

ive removed the back plate of my MagicoQ5’s, another company that has gone insane , and at least with magico the crossovers are world class and don’t have chinese parts.

thats my curves on the side and the  Torus sub amplifier . The wilson benesch sub is easily bested by JL audio without the WankFactor

I bought a pair of Discovery speakers a few years ago now and while I wasn't a fan of them initially once I worked out that they were very selective about their placement in the room, speaker cables and the upstream gear used I really got to like them.  I've sold them on now but since owning them I've bought a pair of ACTs and then a pair of ACT One Evolutions.  I love them both.  They are fast, clean and sound astonishingly clear.

WB don't use a crossover on their mid range driver in the ACT and only use the simplest of crosovers on the tweeter and woofer.  I am uncertain if this topology carries over to all of their speaker designs.

With the right upstream gear they continue to knock my socks off on a regular basis.  Love them, plan to keep them.
