When Bennett came to the Dragons they won the minor premiership in his first year.

The 'detractors' claimed the the Dragons 'choked'!  NO, they simply 'over-acheived' in that first year! (sour grapes to the other supporters)!

Second year, one better 'premiership'! That's building a team up!

In  his last year they couldn't emulate the previous year, BUT so what!

Bennett + Dragons = Success!

I will admit I had my doubts about Bennett because he had virtually the Queensland team at Brisbane, but I am a believer now! :)

Price will 'not' get the Dragons firing!

Damn straight.

The Dragons will never even go close to winning a comp with Price as coach. They need a kick arse dude like McGuire or Bellamy.........................or just about anyone else actually. I have nothing against Price personally, he seems like a decent guy, but he isn't up to NRL head coach standard IMO.

agree, agree, agree, and agree

Im not sure Price is the problem as much as Doust is, no matter how well they go he will always find a way to prove how much a master tactician he isnt

case in point...the return of Gasnier from England leading to the eventual departure of Bennett, before that it was to only sign on Mastercoach for 3 years

hindsight is wonderful but id hate to be getting my lotto numbers from him

100% correct Mello.

I forgot to mention Doust as part of the problem, but he absolutely IS a big part of the problem. The deal with Gaz was a classic example of Doust shooting from the hip and missing.............as usual. Bennett knew that Gaz was only looking to fund his retirement and told Doust as much, but Peter the "not so great " had his head back up where the sun doesn't shine and ignored Wayne's misgivings

he will keep making the same mistakes, its going to take quite a strong team to overcome the Doust Factor

Two losses to teams scoring over 50 points in a row - Is R Stuart the most over rated coach in Australian Rugby League?

they sure missed their goalkicker

Yep, 3 reasonably easy kicks missed.

Interestingly, Bellamy refuses to attend press conference due to video ref overturning a no try which for once seemed to be the correct overturn.

Yet no thank you to the ref on the match winning try, after Melb knock the ball forward into the in goal from a kick and Stewart gets caught.  Melb score in the next set of six from the drop out, rather than Manly having the ball.

Good effort considering players out and DCE on one leg and no kicking.

Benji is now Saints messiah. God knows they need some injection of skill

Seems like the pretenders and real contenders are sorting themselves out.

Geeze.................just noticed that Reg Gasnier carked it today.

He'll be missed.

That is very sad.

Even though Gasnier and his peers played before I really knew much about Rugby League he was nonetheless so well known and regarded he represented the sporting hero in my eyes along with such as Ron Barrassi in Australian Rules.

In those days he was also the only other person I knew of with a given name the same as my Dads.

RIP.
