jezzaboogie Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) For outdoor use, I'd like to occasionally run my system in mono. I want both speakers running, just in mono. Setup is squeezebox to DAC to integrated amp to speakers. What's a simple way to do this? Ideally with a quick and easy changeover of cables, if necessary. Edited January 26 by jezzaboogie
Guest Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Maybe a plugin, SquuezeDSP, can do this, assuming it can run on your Squeezebox? If not, a miniDSP will do what you want. How much do you to spend and do you want to do this on the digital side or analog ?

How would the miniDSP fit into the signal chain? I was thinking about doing it at the analog side to keep things simple (and cheap) for now.
jezzaboogie Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 I assume one of these would do the job just fine? https://www.altronics.com.au/p/a2518-stereo-to-mono-rca-adapter/?srsltid=AfmBOorVdJZDxUYZpnRrbU8LO0wXAtkALoAvZxoZV7v_67F4VL4vCZWj

jezzaboogie Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Ah, it can be done in squeezebox without a plugin: settings/player/audio. It would be nice if I could access this from my phone, but for $0 it's a great solution! 1

And you can access from your phone by using the browser and saving to your home screen. Edited January 27 by Snoopy8 Typo
LogicprObe Posted January 27 Posted January 27 There's a lot in Squeezebox that you sometimes come across by accident. I think that was one of their biggest problems was that there were menus inside menus. 1
jezzaboogie Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 The squeezebox mono setting seems to be unreliable/quirky but I'll start a thread in a more appropriate place if I can't figure it out...
