betty boop Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) 2025 sees a release of Jackie Brown reatored. A movie which lives in the shadows of other Tarantino movies and greats like reservoir dogs, pulp fiction and the kill bill duo and yet it is this that is my favourite movie of the bunch. Love its characterisations the roles and acting. And roles beautifully played by Pam Grier as Jackie Brown, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, and Robert De Niro ! Pam Grier playing the flight attendant working for Mexican cr@p airline, Samuel Jackson the cocky gun runner trying to get his cash in the country from Mexico. Robert foster the bail bond guy doing his job and making a living dealing with the scum in the world. Bridget foster in the slightly aged surgery girl that’s always high ! And Robert de Niro in a lovely background role of faded crook … For this 27-28 year old movie the 4k remaster which went back to the original 35mm negative still looks film based and maintains that lovely feel of film respecting the grain…so in that regard the this remaster is plain amazing … see some screen shots below showing how comes up on big screen and via a jvc nz800 projector. These shots are straight out of camera only cropped to upload here not post processing. It looks even better with own eyes ! the audio is also a standout. For beautiful rendition of the music and also the sound field making it very real and in this case post processing its dts-hdma sound track to 9.2.6 speakers set using neural -X. it is truly a lovely experience to be able to enjoy movies like this in the home Edited February 1 by betty boop
