Are they just voodoo like $$$ directional AC mains fuses, anyone have any measured proof that they actually work??

I've with held the manufacture of this "re-clocker". The graphs to me say "without the re-clocker" is ever so slightly better between 5-10k (you make up your own mind)

EG: Here is a $5k aud re-clocker 1st pic through the re-clocker 2nd pic without.

(NB: the input v scale is half of the other but the v in is the same.)

Cheers George

It interesting that when i got onto SNA looking for a DAC and not a CD player, the talk of the town was "jitter"

People had up to $10K of reclockers saying the difference was night and day.   Every dac producer were coming up with a reclocker from USB to spdif.   Some members here that were well respected just speculate how an errror of just 10 to -12, we are talking pico seconds will make a difference in SQ and you the human ear can tell the differences.   Every month there be a dac or a reclocker of the month....  Not so now becuase now we  have proof that all those claims was  just that and no real data to see what the claimed issues were and how much of it really effected SQ.   The same said for standard ethernet, power cords etc etc.

You can see on the both plots there are no side bands,  jitter is a resolved issue, even at dacs costing a few hundred dollars...  And people hear dispute measurements to trust the ear,  just remember the threshold of hearing is -115db.   The plots here are -160db....

Edited:  something that I remember how a reclocker producer was trying to sell his $700 reclocker solution to a someone with a $100 dac that he bought 2nd hand!   Some of those products also ended up on ASR, when Amir pulled it apart,  you have to scratch your head on how this item gets sold!  Absolute  criminal!

I have absolutely no objective proof that they work. All I can draw upon is my own personal experience so here goes...  (deep breath!)

I've owned several over the years, including USB to SPDIF converters with reclocking and upsampling options (audio-gd DI), USB to USB reclockers/isolators (Gieseler Reinigen) and SPDIF to SPDIF reclockers/isolators(Empirical Audio Synchro Mesh).

Each of them subjectively improved the sound when inserted into my system. No blind tests were held but I heard clear, repeatable changes in my various systems over the past 15 years or so since I tried the first reclocker, and that's good enough for me. Each to their own in this regard and your mileage may vary.

It is logically impossible for a reclocker to effect data that is transmitted asynchronously (such as a USB interface) because the clock is not used,  so any benefits would have to arise from isolation/noise reduction or something else analogue.    Discussions on this topic make me glad I never went down the coax/optical route,  not that I am a big user of digital interfaces anyway.
