It's four thirty on a Wednesday, and I'm sitting back in my quiet, peaceful showroom listening to Counting Crows on my third demo Dohmann Helix 2 MKIII turntable, which I've had installed in my showroom this year. Third, on account that vinyl-loving audiophiles have adopted the other two.

This beauty is armed with a Supatrack Blackbird tonearm, which, like its namesake, looks like an SR71 Blackbird. Extracting the music from the precious vinyl is a Mutech Hyabusa Japanese-crafted MC cartridge. It looks spectacular against the black tone arm.

I seldom get a chance to listen to music for any period of time here, but with this divine rig, I am compelled to take some time out to enjoy it.

Mark Doehmann has done an amazing job of designing and building this turntable, and his commitment to its engineering has made it absolutely world-class. Hi-Fi Plus magazine recently called it the product of the year - Price no object. Designed, engineered and built right here in Australia. Melbourne, in fact!

Many of you who were able to come through my room at the last Hi-Fi show would have had the opportunity to hear it over the weekend.

This opportunity exists here with this amazing spinner being on demo in my showroom for private auditions in my relaxing space.

I am running it today with a Sutherland Little Loco V2 trans-impedence phono pre-amplifier.

Aesthetix Calypso Eclipse Line Stage Pre-Amplifier (trade-in), which will be listed in the future.

Aesthetix Atlas Stereo Power amplifier

The Cables are Oephi from Denmark

The speakers are a pair of  Alumina 3 that I am running in for a home demo. These sound mega!  8"drivers, high efficiency, aluminium cabinets, front port, Made in Switzerland. WOW!!

The Dohmann Helix / Supatrac Blackbird Farpoint combo is something very special!

Expensive cars are over rated , when you can channel the money on one of these and sit back and luxuriate in one of, ( if not ), the best turntables in existence!

The level of detail, imaging and dynamics are a very heady mix. 😉

Totally agreed.

It’s unbelievable.

I'm so happy to have it set up ( by Mark) instore.

Makes me keep buying more vinyl. 😁

These Stenheim look great too and with 93dB / 8 ohms nominal very amp friendly it seems. Some great gear in this system Geoff 👍

They are awesome - spending all week listening to them.

Demo on the weekend. 🙂
