bob_m_54 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 After some suggestions for Digital Photo Management Software. I have a stack of ( about 600) old family photos that I have scanned, and am trying to identify the people in them. Some have names and places on the back, so I can identify who they are, but many don't. I have tried a couple of different facial recognition capable, to varying degrees of success. Currently I am using Digikam, which recognises faces in photos, but only identifies about 50% of the people, and misses even some quite obvious matches. A few years ago I tried to do the same, with another program, that seemed to work much better. But I can't remember which one it was or even if it was a Windows or Linux Program. So my needs are: Facial recognition that works better than Digikam Can produce some sort of "Photo Album" with people tagged in them, and can be shared with other family members who don't necessarily have the software. So I'm thinking HTML output. Either free or low cost, but not monthly subscription, and works locally with photos stored locally. Allows saving data to the image file, especially face names, notes or comments, geolocation. It can be either Windows or Linux OS, but preferably Linux. Trying to get away from windows. All suggestions are welcome.. Thanks
aussievintage Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Digikam is the best I have found, but yeah, it's not perfect. 1
