metal beat Posted March 30 Posted March 30 A new entry into the record flattening market. I think about AU $1600 My Orb DF-02:record flattener I bought 17 years ago has been my best purchase ever. I don't worry about dished or warped records, I just flatten them. https://www.gearpatrol.com/audio/pro-ject-flatten-it-vinyl-flattener/ 5
SONDEKNZ Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) Great feedback! I must admit, it is high-time I invested in a flattener of some type... How does your ORB cope with edge-only warps? Any failures? Edited March 30 by SONDEKNZ

How does your ORB cope with edge-only warps? Any failures? The Orb works perfectly on edge only warps and any other warps. Sometimes it takes a couple of flattens to do the job if the warped is severe. The only time it won't fix the vinyl is when the vinyl is warped and deformed in the grooves. Nothing will fix groove deformation. Edited March 30 by metal beat 1
Hydrology Posted April 2 Posted April 2 It appears that the changing from heating to cooling isn't automatic on this machine, rather a manual process, which I would've thought was crucial to the success of de-warping. Wont be changing from my Orb machine anytime soon, but interested in how this unit pans out. 1
