SoundAir Posted yesterday at 01:08 AM Posted yesterday at 01:08 AM Hi there, I recently bought a Sony Bravia8 and have an Oppo103D BluRay player and Yamaha RX-V777 surround amp, that is supposed to take 4K audio/video.. I was testing the Oppo 4K upscale with my 15 year old BluRay of 'Children of Men' and the audio was slightly out of sync. Basically I have an HDMI cable going from Oppo>Yamaha>Bravia TV - do I need to upgrade the HDMI cables to 8K ones? Are there any settings on the Yamaha to enable 4K audio visual or is it automatic? Or is the BluRay itself an old and crap one, since it's 15 years old?? 1

Unless the disc itself was manufactured with an audio synch fault, I'd guess this is not the cause. You can probably attempt audio synch in the Bravia8 settings, might these instructions work? I'd hazard a guess that the video is delayed relative to audio due to the upscale processing...unsure whether the cable is a bottleneck also... Edited yesterday at 01:31 AM by Steff
Hi-Fi Whipped Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM The Yammy will pass through a 4K upscaled signal automatically, shouldn’t be a need to switch that on. So when you send 1080p from the oppo there’s no sync issue? have you tried the upscaled video direct into the Bravia to check if there is still a sync issue?
