I listened to Dynaco ST70 almost 30 years ago, and when u can get a used one for a few hundred.  These days in Canada, even a beat up one cost 1500.  To get the VTA ST70 shipped to Canada could cost over 2000.  I wonder if anyone can suggest any  Dynaco ST 70 or 35 Mono block sounds alike tubey amp, I assume they have to be Chinese amp for economic reason.   Would any of the mass production from brand such as Yaqin, Jolida, Muzishare 。。has any model that would provide sounds close to the warm, lush, airy tubey like sound of the Dynaco.  I would like to get that for my second unit, and that is why I am hesitant to spend a lot ..but i figure if I have to spend 1500-2000 ,,at least i am getting a new one that I do not have to worry about how to get technician to fix an used one.   Based on my research, brand like Rogue, even Prima Luna has more a modern sound.  I wonder any relative reliable Chinese amp is based on the ST 70 model .. Thanks a lot for all your input and sharing

I recommend that you get the Yaqin MC-100B which is setup with KT88 tubes, it is  dual mono block setup on the one unit, this can be bias to run EL34 which is what I do, or you can go bigger power and run KT120.

The yaqin is chinese made but they use Japanese transformers and componets, the MC-100B is switchable triode and ultra linear and also has a pre inpt at the front if you what to run it as a power amp.

Second recommendation would be the Yaqin MC-10T which is an EL34 push pull intergraded amp.

When I was young (back in the early 80's) I bought a mint 2ndh Dynaco ST-70 (240VAC for Aust market)

... and stupid, sold it for Aus$250 to a mate, silly me!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.  Yaqin is still readily available in China-HiFi Site who also sold Muzishare and Willsenton ..and Jolida I believe.   May I further ask u whether your suggestion is based on your comparison of Dynaco ST 70 and Yaqin ..or based on your good experience with Yaqin。  thanks

I can totally understand .. now even an 50 years old one asked more than a brand new Chinese amp from Yaqin and Jolida and even Willsenton...  A new Kit is more like a mid-range CAyin  Problem is that I love the Dynaco sound signature as occasional fun.. as they do lack a lot or detail comparing to modern amp..  If I use ST 70 as main system.. then that USD 2000 is ok
