I must also acknowledge this step simply would not have happened without the connections and friendships old and new that I’ve made through SNA - what a great community - I know I’ve given @Marc and some members a few headaches from time to time but I truly am very grateful to Marc and his team and the mods etc that make SNA such a great community

A quick up date - a little guidance from @kelossus on his preferred positioning and some previous help from @Pat Thetic helped me dial these in a bit more this afternoon - just keep getting better (even with the curtains open - too nice a day to close them up)

That room is screaming out for room treatment, Andy,  I appreciate this may be a step too far for your patient wife, but when you are feeling particularly bolshy, it may be worth bringing up

Slowly slowly catch the monkey - have to repaint the lounge then I’ll suggest some appropriately placed decorations

Well a lot of work emptying the lounge and dinning rooms - prep and paint walls and ceilings - scrub lounge room floor for 5 hrs - then move all my audio gear (at least he bits I’m keeping) and cds/vinyl - mostly done / just a bit of acoustic treatment etc to tinker with - chairs get moved for listening sessions / pretty happy with how it’s coming together

Two new additions - an oppo 105d - finally playing my sacds and a “few .dsf files”  

 

and yesterday a “new to me” qutest dac that’s travelled from the UK thanks to @mondie

 

can things get much better 

 

as my wife said “that’ll do pig - that’ll do”

so I’ve reached the end of the line for my system - it’s as good as I ever could have dreamed it would be - I never felt I’d have a “high end” system but I’m pretty blown away with where I’ve landed after over 20 years of playing more seriously in this hobby space - apart from minor tinkering with cables/acoustic treatment/dsp/ etc I don’t think I’ll need to change further UNLESS

Andy, don’t lose the Oppo105D - it’s good for ripping DACS to .dsf - I hope you are doing that (especially as I have a bunch that could be ripped).
