Hope all goes well Clive.

She`s a beautiful looking dog.

Do you get the puppy eye`s treatment often?

We were very worried yesterday, but bounced back very well- luckily got onto it very early and appears to be a nasty case of Gastro.

She has it down to a fine art if kicked outside or overdue for a walk! 😂

Glade to hear it Clive.

Mine has now tried to take over my bed.

He make`s a good heater but gets kicked off when I go to bed.

Then sneak`s back on around 4am, he is good though that he doesn`t crowd me, unless I`m across the bed then he sit`s on me.

Biggest problem is he`s now between 75-80kgs.

Unfortunately Zoe is not in a good and is at the vet at the moment.

Over the weekend she didn't want to eat her dry food and then developed a cough Sunday night.

So took her into the vet Monday morning and were very kind to squeeze her in without an appointment.

It looked like it was basically a case of doggy flu and prescribed some antibiotics.

They also found that Zoe's heart rate was elevated (which is normal for her when around friends) and slightly irregular.

They also put her on an ECG and sent the recording to a heart specialist to get an expert opinion.

The last couple of days she went downhill and wasn't wanting to eat even soft food and vomited a couple of times.

This morning she was even more lethargic and then had this moment where she was walking then mid stride she just froze and couldn't move for a short period of time.

As this was now appearing to be more serious I took her straight back to the vet again as soon as they opened.

They found that she's got a pretty severe heart arrhythmia.

They then managed to get an appointment with the heart specialist tomorrow at short notice for a full scan which normally you can't get for an appointment for a couple of weeks.

In the meantime she's at the vet to get an X-Ray and another ECG so they can hopefully stabilise her.

Unfortunately the prognosis is not looking good with the worst case she might have a severe heart attack and best case with medication she might survive maybe another 12 months.

Work wasn't happy with me wanting to take tonight and tomorrow night off as their already short on drivers but I definitely want to be with her tonight and take care of her and probably won't get much sleep today and definitely won't be getting much tomorrow having her heart appointment.

@Martykt very sorry to hear of Zoe's health issues.

There are a number of meds for Arrhythmia, and hope they can put her on one that benefits her considerably!

Not a great time with our other issues, so feel your pain, mate.

All the best of luck. 😕

Thank you.

Hopefully the damage to her heart is not too bad and can be treated by medication.

The prognosis is not looking good though.

Sorry to hear things aren't going great either.

Hope things work out well for you too.

After being with the vet for the day they were able to figure out the cough was due to fluid in the lungs caused by the heart not pumping properly.

They put her on a diuretic to help clear the fluid.

Once home she's picked up a bit and was even happy to eat a bit of roast chicken I got for her.

She'd actually got so bad that she was refusing milk which is one of her favourites so it was a very welcome sign to see her eating some chicken.

Relieved and happy to hear she's a lot better!

Know the feeling well, Lexi was off her food a few months back and initially was diagnosed as having  Haemorrhagic Gastro.

Then elevated levels in her blood test indicated Pancreatitis, so now on low fat dry food to be safe.

Here she is, looking very well!
