darth vader Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I hate folk driving in the right hand lane...slowly. Keep left unless overtaking you tards. But I have subliminally noticed the discrete removal or lack of signage advising people to do such. There was once a time where drivers extended common courtesy. It seems anything but common these days. Kinda screwed up when you find its faster to travel in the leftish lanes 1
emesbee Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 TV stations who refer to repeats of programs as 'encores'. Like we are all sitting around applauding loudly and stamping our feet until they show it again? 6

I've noticed that TV stations' advertising and promotions are now usually done by people who don't speak english and can't correctly copy material from one place to another. 1

Pfffft. We have an engineer at work who thinks 6 x 6 equals 18. We have a metallurgist who can't understand why high grade stainless steel won't stick to a magnet. Neither are over thirty. I can just imagine the blank looks if I asked one of them to do trigonometry! 2
Darryl Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 People who advertise station wagons for sale but don't include any interior shots of the back, the prime reason for buying a station wagon!. 1

progladyte Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 (edited) The ridiculous amount of gap you need to pay for dental costs after your private health insurance fund have condescended into paying you their measly proportion. Case in point. I needed a new denture which cost $1,825.00. (The last one cost me $600 about 9 years ago) Even after paying for top extras cover, I still had to pay nearly $1,100.00. Total rip off if you ask me. Not only are the dentists doing pretty well out of these services but the refunds these private funds give beggars belief. Don't see too many dentists having a closing down sale. Mind you, I was appalled at one dentist I saw a while ago who quoted me $11,000 for 1 x titanium post and crown. He had only recently bought out the practice from my previous dentist who had retired but methinks he was trying to amortize the cost of his purchase within 3 patients. I guess it was imperative that I contributed to the installments on his wife's Ferrari plus ensuring his kids were still able to go on those special overseas school excursions to The Maldives to study marine creatures while at private school. Pure unadulterated greed!!!! Edited August 27, 2018 by progladyte 3

Pure unadulterated greed!!!! My wife's accountant specialises in dental and vet practices. They regularly tell my wife she chose the wrong profession in veterinary doctor. They describe vet practices as only being "moderately" profitable! Of topic but Vet's just seem expensive to the general public because there is no PBS for drugs or medicare for pets, vet's are actually the lowest paid of all medical experts and charge WAY lower for similar services than doctors do.

Guzzista Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Ok, well as I progressively purchase my new vinyl collection I have noticed one peeving factor about the way new records are package and the result! whether one pays $50 or $300 dollars for rare and collectable vinyl they always come with those cheesy paper sleeves, just getting the record out of them causes scratches across the surface of the record before I place them in MoFi anti-static sleeves. I just bought a 1/2 speed master double LP of Back to Black which has embellishments on the brand new record, audibly noticeable, WTF is wrong with people selling this crap!!!
metal beat Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) not really cheeses me off, but amusing is the expensive MoFi audiophool inner sleeve. why people buy them is beyond me as they are difficult to get in and out of LP sleeves and they easily fold. known to have powder and cause fine line scratches. Personally el cheapo U shaped poly inner sleeves for album with carboard inners and poly lined cut off paper sleeves for no inner sleeve do a better job and are cheaper. LOL Edited December 11, 2018 by metal beat 1
