Xstatic Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I always heard that Yamaha made pretty decent amps, so i was looking at getting the RX-V557, as it seems to have the features i want, and the price is pretty good, which fits into my budget. http://www.yamahamusic.com.au/products/avi...rs/RX-V557B.asp What are peoples thoughts on Yamaha these days? still good? Does anyone own on of these and can comment on it? Thanks
Mike.L Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 i pointed a mate at one about 6 months ago ... mainly because my bro bought one.... both of them love it, very musical and im yet to see on any forums etc that they have reliability issues. You cant go wrong for the money You live on the coast who you going to shop with?
Xstatic Posted December 16, 2005 Author Posted December 16, 2005 yeah im on the coast. can get it at jb hifi pretty damn cheap.. so was going to get it from there.. altho im also thinking of the 657 as well now.
Essential Audio Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 We've been using the RX-V450 in our demo room for nearly 18 months and it's never missed a beat! Definitely go with the Yamaha!
GimmeHiFi Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Hello, I have the RXv-657 and can I like it, Just driving 2 B&W 600's at the moment and it sounds good for me, Form the research I did it was worth it to go for the 657 over the 557, I got mine a few months ago from Bing lee for $890.
Xstatic Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 I ended up with the Yamaha X-V757 dished out the extra cash, and i am so happy with it. also bought the full set of Dali Concept speakers, with the concept 6's for fronts, concept 1's for rear, concept centre, and concept sub. sounds amazing! Thanks for the input guys.
