GimmeHiFi Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Thats a big project, I have these ones $165 from JB http://www.syntec.com.au/*ws4d-db-query-Qu...ow.ws4d?SNHD515 I would like a pair of active noise canceling closed back for air travel and gaming but you can't have everything. I wonder how those $30k ones sound, probably better than any loudspeaker in the world
pomdomz Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 yeh mate for sure :-o il just go to my local bank and ask them for a loan hahaha seriously though
dazdillinger Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 You cant reallly compare loudspeakers and headphones. Headphones fall far short in terms of imaging, and bass impact. They go just as low or lower than many loudspeakers, but the bass is not visceral - thats half the enjoyment of low frequencies. However some ppl pair subwoofers with a set of headphones, for example the AKG1000s.
GimmeHiFi Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 True, Bass impact and imaging are not the same. But what can be better for true 2 channel hi fidelity reproduction than awesome headphones, I hear things in good head phones that a $5000 Stereo doesn't reproduce. If you have little care about imaging or "feeling the bass" but want to experience True HiFi then a good set of head phones is a must. And it won't cost you 100k
