JukKluk2 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 And it has never occurred to you that you are a prop on the set of multiple tv shows and that these are your work mates? It's amazing how the obvious is sometimes never seen.

YCC Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Robert Redford operated a high-end turntable in Indecent Proposal, I think that it was a VPI but it may not havebeen: it's been a long time. I've also seen Linn gear on some Scottish detective series whose name escapes me. And I think that DCI Banks has Arcam electronics too. Am I the only one who sometimes pauses a movie just to try and work out what the hi-fi in the background is? It drives my wife to distraction. NQB Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Google says "Meridian DSP 5200" Yep that looks like them thanks. Very curious why they keep popping up so much. They look pretty good, but why? So Many times. Prop house needs more stock. My brain might just explode. 1
metal beat Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 VPI turntable debuted today during the Oscars. An add by PC inventor Steve Wozniac. Must have needed some cash Now, what VPI is it? The Daring: Steve Wozniak: http://youtu.be/tQvSG5rStew
Jarrod Harrison Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 just saw a pair of I think martin logans in the background of the ad for the odd couple!. Are they the same the chander and joey had in their apartment in Friends????
Damhooligan Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 watching the rock in welcome to the jungle. Clearly not into vinyl as he grabs (possible technics 1200) and bashes the other guy with it. And then throws it towards another.. Is fun to watch

Guest Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) I’m getting a NAD T770 digital decoder with 70-watt amps and Burr-Brown DACs. It’s a big stereo. Speakers so loud, they blow women’s clothes off! Edited March 31, 2015 by Dirty_vinylpusher

Steever Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) Just finished watching "A most wanted man". Mr Hoffman is seen in his apartment playing the piano and in back of shot only a little out of focus is one mutha of a Marantz amp (gold with the blue star on the front) and matching CD player. Stacked either side was a bunch of vinyl too. Edited April 2, 2015 by Winno
Steever Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 And the movie "Philadelphia" with Tom Hanks has some Audiostatic ES100 ESLs that he's playing some classical through one evening.
Steever Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Watched a Korean movie on SBS a year or so ago. The main character loved music and he's shown auditioning a whole bunch of valve gear in his home with a salesman. I forget the name of the movie but it was pretty full on crazy about a cop.

ah-um Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 John Cusack has a Sansui in High Fidleity, maybe an au-6600?
legselevens Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I guess some are product placement but I think most of the systems seen in movies etc would be owned by the owner of the home whose place is being used as a set.
JukKluk2 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Last Friday's episode of Midsummer Murders: the victim had Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista M3 amplifier and the matching cd player. I can't say which speakers were with it s my wife started getting cranky when I wanted to pause/reverse to take a look. May have been ProAc. I think I spotted some MF gear in Inspector Barnaby's place too.
Cookies Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I believe Wilson Fisk from Daredevil has a pair of B&W Diamonds. 1
Guest Sime Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 The tv show Elementary has a Mcintosh system in it with unknown by me speakers.
blybo Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Not quite HiFi but noticed the Mars Hab from "The Martian" has Ikea LED lights in it. I use one as my TT light as seen here. Can't find it on their catalogue any more so I assume it's discontinued. . 1
