Top Gun

As soon as the new one was announced, I swore I’d play the soundtrack every day until it was released. ?

That didn’t last long, but I still give it a regular bash.

Paul Leonard-Morgan "Dredd - Original Movie Soundtrack"

Hmm.  It's a bit weird.  I like the film.  And used to read 2000AD back in the day, so was a Dredd fan.  And I like the music in the film, it certainly adds to it.  But I had a listen to the album on Tidal, and I'm not sure it did it for me.  Maybe it was just the mood I was in or something, but it seemed like one of those soundtracks where I'm just happy to hear the music in the film rather than listen to it standalone.

And after hearing Bodysong being played in Rocking Horse yesterday, decided to give that a listen.  I like it.  To me it's almost got kind of a John Zorn avant-garde jazzy feel to it in a lot of places.  But that could just be me.

Then thought I should check out There Will Be Blood by Mr Greenwood too.  Like that as well.  Will definitely have to have a listen to his other solo stuff.

Grabbed this from Vinnies last week. Recently acquired a blu-ray player free so now I can listen to CDs for the first time in about 6 years also.

'Cool Runnings'

Actually didn't occure to me that the only 2 CDs I've purchase in years are both soundtracks until now. Never seen this movie or heard the OST before apart from 'Wild Theme', maybe a Dire Straits version of it?

'Local Hero' - Mark Knopfler
