BuzzzFuzzz Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Mastodon 'Emperor of Sand' 2017 Reprise Records. Nothing new here, but solid and tight as always. Love a drummer/vocalist.
Monk Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Yeah, righto, wtf not? Sounds better on these speakers too. Definitely a less harsh sound. 2

Darren69 Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Really looking forward to my leetle JB Hi Fi purchase today (mail order). Sounds great. Now I am not usually a film clip person but how awesome is this? No one does visuals like the Nordic's do, in my opinion.

On a friends suggestion I've been getting into a bit of Nordic Metal and Pagan Mysticism. 'Heilung', 'Igorrr' who I found through this wonderful forum, 'The Moon and the Night Spirit', 'Faun' and 'Omnia'. Thanks to you I can add 'Solstafir' to a growing list. Cheers Man, Ant. Found a full gig by Igorrr at Dour Festival 2017... I was a little disappointed that there is no Guitarist or Bassist, until I discovered that the creative maestro Gautier Serre, plays all instruments, which are usually highly processed for different effects. BuzzzFuzzz Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Hey @Tubularbells; How ya goin' Doug??? No idea why it's writing in bold, can't seem to change it, keeps doing it. I had a listen to Lightshine 'Feeling' on youtube after you posted it, but it was a small file so I don't think I got the full effect. Another great recommendation from you buddy. The guitar tone was very nice. I saw they have a cannabis leaf on the back cover too, always a plus for me. Thanks again for that one. I noticed you liked the Heilung 'Lifa' album post, and thought you may like the full live gig on youtube, it's a decent quality. Ancient, primal, Pagan mysticism in sound and setting, really floored me watching late at night. I thought it would fit well in the church with the lights low, any skulls you have and the incense or green burning. It will be first play for my next shroom adventure, which they reference in some of the English. If you've ever seen the Vikings episode with the trek to the mountains, where they visit the Temple and be with the Gods while tripping on shrooms. I want to experience something like that. Enjoy... This is NOT Metal, sorry to derail slightly. Cheers Man, Ant. Edited July 27, 2018 by BuzzzFuzzz

Its one of the few albums that can put me in a trance like state for the duration and really needs to be listened to as a whole to get the full effect. Definitely in my top 10 performances i'd love to see before I turn into dirt. 1

blackangus Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Driving Portland to Birregurra, cannot remember the last time I listened to this but I reckon it would be more than 20 years ago! Holds up for sure! 2 1
tubularbells Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Difficult few days for me on a number of levels so am finding [some] solitude in this. Atmospheric depressive black metal at its finest. Lascar - Saudade "Lascar is back with their sophomore release, “Saudade”, an album that moves along the lines of its illustrious predecessor, underlining once again the band’s naturalistic approach and marking a perfect syncretism of those feelings of loss, fragility and desperation that have always been Lascar’s trademark."

Man that's weird, I'm sure last time I checked, they only had the one EP? Weird. Need to check out their new(er) releases then coz Absence was friggin' good.

Monk Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 First song off Sumac's new album dropped. Heh, I said dropped. I'm now one of 'those' people. Damn. If the rest of the album is this good, it's going to be epic. Attis' Blade is one hell of a rollercoaster. https://sumac.bandcamp.com/album/love-in-shadow Then a new purchase for me from Isis. For some reason I never got this before or heard it, maybe they were all out of print or something. But I likey. https://isishydrahead.bandcamp.com/album/the-red-sea-ep-reissue And currently listenin to Melvins/Lustmord. Mayyybe not quite metal, but whatever. https://melvinsofficial.bandcamp.com/album/pigs-of-the-roman-empire-melvins-lustmord 4
BuzzzFuzzz Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 (edited) Hey Guys... Motley Crue 'Too Fast for Love' 1981 Warner, USA. 2003 Masters 2000, Universal. Made in EU. Motley Crue 'Shout at the Devil' 1982 Warner, USA. 2003 Masters 2000, Universal. Made in EU. 'Too Fast for Love' is a great Album, such raw energy, and Tommy Lee on drums. A heavier and more evil side of Glam. I saw them in Sydney at The Empty Container (as Doug Mulray used to call it), many moons ago. I remember we were pretty impressed by the giant wall of speakers, until on closer inspection, they were merely a façade, empty, just for show. Still, another great gig. Cheers, Ant. tubularbells Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Decided to pop my head into the semi-local record fair (Box Hill. Melbourne) today for a looksie and walked out a bit poorer but happy to find a few loose ends ive been somewhat on the lookout for. So for reasons unexplained somehow im managing to duplicate my Priest collection with Jap pressings but there was a small gap in the earlier period so it was nice not only to fill that void but to also find minty fresh copies which is the case for all the others in the set. Can you guess which two they are.... 1
