likwidsh0k Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I find Metallica albums can be a bit patchy I retract this ridiculous statement! I had previously kinda skimmed Metaliica albums, but thought I better do this properly.. always like Justice complete, my first Metallica album, can't believe I even suggested Lightning and Puppets were patchy.. wtf?? Recent spins.. Puppets, Justice, Black for only the second time since I bought it, and I think it is Black where I got that approach from as I still think it is patchy, the incredible singles Sandman / Unforgiven and their quieter tracks are cool too, but the rest is just boring, the way I felt when first heard it, and I think perhaps was the strength of those singles and back in the day when you had to buy music, and also people could then with the Black album be Metallica fans, is why it broke records, though Sandman is awesome and remember was the year of Sandman and Carlton Cold in clear glass, but still cannot understand it getting critical metal acclaim though? Perhaps another, third, full listen is warranted Very high rotation the last week.. more than a couple of spins each.. Lightning, epic album, Lars does I believe cop some flack for his drumming, but love the each verse drumming end bit in Escape. Next and first spin, Kill Em All, I picked up the 3 first albums from crime converters yonks ago Couldn't believe my luck along with almost a dozen Bowie remasters. 2

tubularbells Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 One of the better re-issues of recent times. Better than my played to death original in fact... Long live the King!
metal beat Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 4th album from A Time to Bury Strangers - Trabsfixation. Another wall of fuzz, guitar effect's, Drone from this noisy 3 piece. Love it

tubularbells Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Classic! I was about 14 when this came out \m/;) I remember going to see them on the Arise tour, I would have been about 14 or 15 too, bloody amazing show! I missed the tour but managed to see them at an in-store at Metal For Melbourne which was cool. I was probably around 15 at the time so it was a great experience chatting to the guys. Still have their signatures all these years later... 3
