I'm thinking this will be the system I have in the study for some time.  It's sounding terrific.  I didn't realise that I had only upgraded my study system back in June.  But as it has turned out I swapped in and out various pieces with the final change being a Yamaha A-S1000 amp and removing the Copland CSA29.  I grabbed a bargain at Eastwood HiFi (A-S1000 was $1399).

So the system now comprises of:

Yamaha CD-S2000

Yamaha A-S1000

Graham Slee UL Diamond Series HP Amp

Sennheiser HD650  with Zu Cable Mobius cable

Revel M22 speakers

Krispy Kable RCA cables

ISOtek Power cables

Vibrapods under both

PC has Xonar Essence STXII soundcard

Library is FLAC

I added the Amp this morning.  I'm already impressed, what a beautiful sounding Amp. only had it playing for an hour so far so cant really give full impressions but its opening up with each song.  Its more detailed than the Copland which is understandable as the Copland has a tube pre-amp stage.  But the Yammy is not lacking in bass and the vocals are really well presented as is guitar.  Not to sound corny but as is written on the Yamaha gear 'natural sound'  its exactly that.  It may be that I'm used to some slight colouration with the 6922s in the Copland but I have noticed a different sound with the Yamaha combo.  And really happy with it.  I've been extremely lucky in grabbing this setup as most was via SNA 2nd hand - the Revel M22s, the Yamaha CD-S2000, Senn's, Mobius cable all through here.  Also I consider I got the Amp via SNA as well as its where I saw the Ad.

I was worried I would be stepping down from the CSA29 as its a very capable Amp.  But I've lost nothing with the A-S1000.  Whether its a better match to the CDP,  not sure but they go really well together.

It will take some getting used to as the detail, crispness and clarity are the main differences with the Yammy.  Not bright,  but small details like drum brushes stand out much more than I recall.  Little nuances that will be exciting to discover.  I must have turned my head 5 times already when I hear a sound from one of the speakers that I'm not used to hearing in familiar music (Lizz Wright and Jose James).

So there you go - a happy start to the new year with the updated study system.  Thanks for looking.

some pics that are not from my phone..   Always rely on pics to show up finger prints.................

I meant to say in the original post - these Revel M22s are fantastic.  Without doubt the best bookshelf speakers I've heard (let alone owned).  Very high level of enjoyment.
