This is my KISSS (Keep it Simple Summer System) ...no analog equipment, no heat, no valves in sight (rare for me). Consists of threeway Accuton-Raven spkr, Bel Canto eVo 2i Gen II digital amplifier, Statman AKM4396-Lundahl DAC and entirely computer audio source via JRiver, with the Sony SCD-777ES player only there to play the occasional pure DSD recording.

Might as well try digital all the way! Yes, I was a bit skeptical too ;) about digital amplification, but this Bel Canto integrated amplifier with the original Tripath chip and a strong linear power supply is very good, it was RRP $5K in its day.

Great sound overall, dead quiet and clear as a mountain stream.

Steve.

Clear as a mountain stream? Keep your eyes open for salmon swimming up that stream, won't you?

Cool looking system, btw.

Thanks, that reminds me the salmon will be running soon in South-West Australia ...

Steve

PS: you might want to delete the repeated photos, waste of bandwidth for SNA.

There's as Touch in there......... :P

Nice summer system - are the valves only for winter?

NFA

NFA, yes cannot live without the SBTouch, the world of music is your oyster - with it! Love internet radio and Spotify Premium @ 320kbps.

Valves are cool ...but not in summer  .

No problemo, just give me a call when you are ready to visit ...though Mars is a long way from WA :).

Everywhere's a long way from Perth... :P

Cool system, though, both in looks and temperature, I'll wager! Digital amplification - can't beat it for cool running and efficiency and a stack of watts. The Can Beltos deliver by all counts, but I went Wyred 4 Sound and love them.

Wow Steve, your place looks so baron now!

Its got that, I just moved in and only had time to setup the minimum to have my music playing.

I like it.

Yes Rob, I am enjoying the simplicity and neatness of it.

Orange bad boys gone Steve?

No no Jonesy, just tucked away during the heat wave here in Perth (going to be a 40C weekend!).

The return of the bybees from the east would be the crowning touch, I feel.

Yes, where are the little critters? Last I heard someone sprayed them with a can of Mortein!

Looks neat but digital amplification is just not worth the trip up north for me :P

The one consistency with you is your unpredictability Steve. Once again a swerve of Maradona style and a system that would be a pleasure to hear no doubt. It amazes me that some cling so hard to their bias and prejudice, if you give it a fair and open minded listen Mario you may just appreciate something different rather than worse. Not that I have the faintest idea whether it is up to the standard of Steve's previous thirty nine systems.

Are they the WAR Audio Ref1 based (+ Raven R1 tweet) speaker I heard a good few years ago? great speaker and one that I know you've said you enjoy going back to. Where's the DAC in the pic? (not?)

Mario calm down, all is not what it seems ...digital amplification is OK as demonstrated by your superb Killerdac and battery powered CD94 transport, which I have inherited!

The crowning touch for a set of Bybees would be a journey of discovery inside an operative rubbish compactor :)

Ground loop isolators?

Those look very neat and well built. Where does one procure one of these?
