jaspert Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Tuyen, Will you travel to have a taste of WE ? I wonder if there's anyone with WE setup in Australia. May be some lurkers on SNA.
tuyen Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Hi Jasper, I would be very keen to taste WE but only if it is a 'small' detour during my travels overseas. The earliest would probably be beginning of next year, when i head to LA and Japan again. Unless know of any WE users in Bali/Surabaya ?! If there are any WE users in AUS who are lurking out there, please say hello!! I heard of one man who last year sold his LM 22a horns and genuine WE555 drivers on eBay(which ended up going overseas). So there is hope! How about yourself mate? Edited March 14, 2012 by tuyen

So there is hope! How about yourself mate? Yes, I saw those on eBay too. One of SNA members in NSW might know the ex owner, he is selling a 3 way tube crossover which was reportedly used for WE setup. I'm keen to have a taste too and see what the fuss is about but I'm not planning to travel overseas just for this yet. May be one day.....to Perth.
ENIGMA Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I'm going to Perth next week, another taste of what is to offer there! Tuyen, i hate you for posting these photos:):)
MartinV56 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Aga horns http://www.hifichile.cl/index.php?/topic/921-horns/page__st__990__gopid__117737#entry117737
MartinV56 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 My new wood round horns 1"compression driver, thanks
tuyen Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Looking good Martin. Really love look of wood turned horns! The show must go on!
Steve M Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Fantastic photos Tuyen, thanks for sharing. There seems to be no limit as to how horn systems can be concocted. The dedication and effort shown by these people is amazing! richly rewarded I suppose, by the magical floating ethereal sound that only horns seem to provide. Makes me want to drag out my humble active DIY Edgar Horn system out of the attic ... Cheers, Steve.
tuyen Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) No probs. Just a few more for your viewing pleasure. Edited July 27, 2012 by tuyen
tuyen Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 So many photos of horns setups around the globe, yet none from my own setup. So here it is
Guest JohnA Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 some crazy setup in all this lot. you horn guys are really just a little nuts arent you in a good way of course
wolster Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 here is one for all the iphone guys Brilliant. I wonder how it sounds.
tuyen Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Got given one of those from Upfront. Actually works quite well! The horn loads the midrange band (ie. vocals), so the balance of the freq response does go a bit out of wack. Still a bit of fun!
Arg Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Some of these systems just look like an excuse for a woodworker to work wood.
