Tax Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 So many photos of horns setups around the globe, yet none from my own setup. So here it is Looking good T! Thanks also for unearthing these weird and wonderful photos of horns in various shapes and sizes.
Upfront Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 These used to be made in Sydney. Wonder who and if he would sell the plans to a novice horn builder like me.

Once was an audiophile Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Now that's dedication! Give tuyen another ten years and only god knows what he comes up with.........
tuyen Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 LOL no chance mate. I'm actually hoping in 10 years time I'll be well and truly out of this so called 'hobby' (more like obsession!) and be focused into something more family orientated. That's assuming things go according to plan... May even end up back to a small music room with a nice pair of ML-1s
Upfront Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Know the feeling. A decent integrated amp and 1 nice pair of speakers. Simple. Don't think I'll ever get there though
tuyen Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Neither mate.. This is what I call cool art. This is why I love horns. Sound is so effortless and engaging. [media=] Edited August 29, 2012 by tuyen
Owen Y Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 My own (relatively) modest horns... Cornerloaded 30hz hypex flare rear basshorns + 140Hz tractrix front midhorns. Drivers - OBD field coils or Seas FA22RCZ, crossover - none. Tweeters - Fostex T90A., crossover - Russian 'bathtub' PIO.
Upfront Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I think a few more photos are required here mate! Nice set up!
ENIGMA Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I need to take some new better photos but I've gotta add my photo in this thread.
Once was an audiophile Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I need to take some new better photos but I've gotta add my photo in this thread. Stunning presentation of art in audio
Upfront Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Very well done E. Beautiful looking horn set up. I'm glad your enjoying them after the amount of work that went into the build.
tuyen Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Seems like the owner of this famous horn setup has changed from huge straight bass horns that extended out to his garden to avantgarde bass horns. Still running ALE drivers and the scorpion looking mid low horn though. Edited September 4, 2012 by tuyen
ENIGMA Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 They need to be a brighter shade of red in my opinion
tuyen Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 like his old bass horns? ALE drivers! more photos: the guy must really dig that reddish brownish colour. even got his avantgardes in that colour.
lovetube Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 My GOTO horn setup currently running too. Mid-low, mid-high and tweeters are 'time-aligned'. Sounding fantastic! (even with my cheap class T amps). Enjoying very much listening to some of my favourite cds.. Bev, I'll hit you up soon for a listen. Been bit busy as of late! Glad to hear you are enjoying your setup. That's what it's all about at the end of the day. Looking good Tuyen. can't wait to set up mine :bump: Duc
