Guess you know how they get the their name ragdoll. A few other things. Ragdoll generally keep their kitten like nature to play all their life. They are an extremely affectionate and will be your friend for life.

Don't get a raggy if you are looking for that solitary nature these cats crave attention and will follow you around and demand to be cuddled...

Apologies for the poor quality of the pic but all I have handy of our two Russian Blues - Stoli (Stolichnaya) and Raz (Rasputin). Stoli sadly passed last year....

now this one could be termed...

The person holding the cat has arms and hands out of all proportion to her body.  Must be something going around in that household.

@@Kazz the jury here (my wife and I) agree your Cammi's a particularly beautiful creature.

My favourite big cat -- The Jaguar. A superb yet endangered species. The ultimate stalk and ambush predator, with enormous jaw strength. Unlike the other big cats - lion and tiger - Jaguar will often pierce and crush the skull of its prey and kill it with a direct bite into the brain.

Our current moggie Bob

BOB_zpsspdx5bou.jpg

Been with us for around 10 years, and has nursed me though recovery from a heart attack, several back operations and a busted kneecap, and the wife through bowel cancer.

We have lots of meaningful conversations, mostly about whats for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper and midnight snacks. She is the most recent in a long line of cats, the last was a Russian Blue that went blind had had to be put down, literally broke my heart at the time.

The wide angle lens effect has been exploited a little.

Thanks TDD, yes I agree she is a beautiful girl and a very gentle soul, apart from trying to kill the lumps under the doona (aka my toes  :P ).

You're correct about the "large" cat pic, I've seen that pic before and it along with a number of other similar photos has been debunked as definite fakes.

I need to get myself one of those.

They also seem to get on real well with other dogs and cats better than with there owners.

So far this little guy seems to not crave too much human attention but loves the dog.

I'm allergic to cat fur and don't have any of my own cat pics, so I thought I'd post one of a spotted cat-bird instead :). They make a noise like a cat being strangled - not that I've ever done that myself of course.

Heres the other halfs cat. He was a stray that made himself at home on her patio.

We didnt know what he was - only that he was a big boy so we called him Boofer (Boof)

Our local mail delivery man asked if he was a mainecoon. Still not 100% sure but he looks like when comparing to others on the net.

Anyway, as you can he he likes to show off his bollocks - funny that seeing as he doesnt have any

I recently visited a friend of a friend; said friend breeds Maine Coons, this colour is "Ice". My goodness they are big cats.

Yeh they're awesome beasts.

We considered getting one a few years ago, but at $800+ per kitten.....

The Norwegian forest cats are similar size and equally hairy.
