Well a Cadillac
It pulled out of the graveyard
Pulled up to me
All they said 'get in', get in
Then the Cadillac
It puttered back into the graveyard
Me, I got out again

Sitting out on the deck in the sun for our lunch today & watching the bees in  the bridal veil brought this one back:

The wisteria on the back veranda's still blooming,
And all the great aunts are either insane or dead

Hi All,

She had a horror of rooms, she was tired, you can't hide beat

When I looked in her eyes, they were blue but nobody home

If you were born in the barbed wire of your mother's womb,If you were hungry before you died
If you said you'd left your bath all clean and white, you know, I'd know you lied

But she tied you to a kitchen chair,  she broke your throne and cut your hair and from your lips she drew Hallelujah! "

My breath is inside you I'll dress you up daily and keep you till death sighs
Inflatable doll lover ungrateful I blew up your body but you blew my mind

Something beautiful from Tom Paxton that I’m listening to now

Are you going away with no word of farewell

will there be not a trace left behind

I could have loved you better didn’t mean to be unkind

that was the last thing on my mind

From David Bromberg Song Diamond Lil which I’m listening to shortly

A man should never gamble

With more than he can afford to lose

From Bob on Nashville Skyline

I never knew what I had

Till I threw it all away

I first heard this on a Triffids ep but I don’t think they wrote it

You don’t miss your water

Till the well runs dry

I love this line from Bruce Springsteen’s Greeting From Asbury Park

Not sure of the song

I found the keys to the universe

In the engine of an old parked car

Makes me wish I’d taken up reading motor repairs manuals instead of Buffalo Bill and Lone Ranger annuals in the 50’s?

Here's a couple of lines from The Rolling Stones' Star.

"Honey, I missed your two tongue kisses
Legs wrapped around me tight."

Always wondered what it meant from when I was a teenager.

I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin!...."

leads to a line from Paul Kelly that I wistfully remember each time I drive up the Kensington road:

"Kensington Road runs straight for a while before turning"

"We lived on the bend, it was there I was raised and fed"
