Dolphy Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Hi All, I searched the forum and I could not find a dedicated Chord Hugo discussion thread where owners can share tips and experiences. I'll get the ball rolling, I also posted this in Head Fi, I prefer SNA because we are in the same time zone. I have a weird thing going on with my Hugo. When the battery is low, the light flashes and the audio drops in and out. I understand this behaviour is due to low battery power, however should this behavoiour be present if it's plugged into the charger and actively recharging? Also, how long does it take for the battrey to fully recharge? I've had the Hugo plugged in and powered down for more than 4 hours and I was only able to get around 45 minutes of usage off the battery charge. Another thing I have noticed is that when the Hugo is recharging the white light flashes on and off, should the light be ON the entire time it is recharging? I'm starting to think that the wall wart I have is faulty.
Janjuggler Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Hi Contact the seller, or Chord directly, there may be something on their website about this. It could be as simple as a firmware upgrade to a problem with your unit.... JJ
Dolphy Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 This has already been taken of with the Retail and Supplier directly. It has been confirmed that the device should not be performing in this manner. A+ service by all parties involved.
Janjuggler Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Hi Well I would be taking it back to have it fixed, if it is not performing correctly and they know it is a fault then your warranty should cover fix, unless the wallwart is not the Chord. From their site: Should I use a different external power supply charger with Hugo? No definately not! Hugo was designed around the charger we supply. Changing it will have no impact on the performance of Hugo. Please be warned that using a different power supply with an incorrect output voltage can permanently damage your Hugo. BTam Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 You mentioned the wall mart? Can you plug supplied charger to other ordinary wall power point to see if same flashing light? If so, bring it back to seller to have it fixed, it's 5 yrs warranty. Charged hugo will run a few hours.
A J Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 there looks to be a recharging calibration cycle. I had no issues until someone knocked the power plug out and it ran flat. Had all sorts of issues until I did a google search - turned it off and left ot charging overnight - all good again
Guest Sime Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) If anyone wants to know first hand information about any chord headphone product, Headfi forum is the place to go, both The owner John Franks and the designer of the mojo and Hugo Rob Watts read their product threads over there and will answer any question directed at them. Sure this forum is a great resource, don't get me wrong, but those two don't post here. Edited April 13, 2016 by Sime
