Raffinator Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Hi, I've seen this device for sale on EBay and I wanted to ask the community about it. It is a power filter, supposedly. Elfidelity PC HiFi Filter card PCI/PCI-E Audio Power Purify for Sound card / GPU http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271869855380?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Equaliser Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) I have had 1 for over 3 years now. It doesn't work. That is all I can say. Cost me $30 shipped from Valab. I also have a hand in testing some of manufacturers prototype products such as few of there SATA filters, RAM filters and few others I'm not allowed to mentioned. I couldn't hear any benefits to sound, but it may be possible to measure it. The biggest sound benefit you'd get with any PC/music server upgrade is getting a very well designed and low-noise PSU made. There are a few consumer branded PSU's that measure well but are hardly what I call "low noise and fully regulated" power supplies. You add things in like graphics cards, power hungry cpu's and etc and the background noise goes up. Edited October 8, 2015 by DefQon 3
Raffinator Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 I have tried a Paul Pang USB PCI slot. So I really wasn't expecting much from the above product. I plugged in jitterbug(s) yesterday to try them out, but haven't had sufficient listening time yet.
Guest myrantz Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Try what the other guys are doing in this thread: Linky.. Mod the board directly... That is going to yield far better benefits.. But as usual, YMMV.

Guest Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) Purchased 2 of these to mount either side of an ASUS STX PCIE Express sound card on board the latest ASUS micro ATX 14nm MOBO, Intel Skylake I3, 3.7 G. 16G DDR4 RAM PSU by http://www.mini-box.com/M4-ATX-HV?sc=8&category=981 and as you may guess this is powered from a solar backed 24v battery (or a 24v Linear DC PSU from the mains). Is fan less and spinning drive less, except for an optional BluRay disc spinner connected via SATA, W10 OS I am yet to hear a better PC source and DAC to head up any of my stereo systems. Actually going to to suggest that I haven't heard a better DAC set up yet to date, period. Filtering and stiffening the supply on board a PC eliminates every trace of noise from the CPU and audio sound path. Playing on a large PA or huge home system it is eary in its silence and it's thanks to the 2 filter cards. my bit coin's worth \ It's a keeper and a good upgrade, from my experience Edited November 25, 2016 by Guest
