Why would they? Bluetooth sounds like poop.

It may sound crap but most people have music on their phones.

If phone is connected to the "mojo" via a lead and it rings, for me that would be a pain in the ass.

If we were talking the Mojo being used in a home system with some merit l would say what you just said, but for a portable option with headphones........

I'd hazard to guess that the customer feedback on the blu-tooth on the Hugo wasn't favorable.

I use my Hugo with Bluetooth only and have no problems with it, but then again I also don't rate Rotel amps......

Um, I hazard to guess, and why bring another argument into this thread?

I wasn't having a dig at the Hugo's Bluetooth, just trying to come up with a reason why they may have dropped it on the Mojo.

Have you used the Bluetooth on the Hugo?

It's got nothing to do with fact, I was just coming up with a guess.

Sure, it's Bluetooth might be super, I've got no idea, but you don't know what, if any, research has been done by them as to ascertain if it's a feature that used or wanted by the majority of consumers.

If you don't get my point now.....

I am not sure if there is a big market for this type of device. Is there? As impressive as it looks for me it's a lot of money for a mobile device.

I would be interested in trying it as a good value dac in my home system. I suspect it would outperform other dacs in the price range. But the connections don't make it useful here.

So I can't figure if there's a big market.

Guesses are welcomed here and probably more have more merit than an actual users experience.

It's a bargain compared to the $3000 Chord Hugo which is for the same purpose and has been a massive hit.

I think it will be very successful. I've wanted, but not been able to justify a high quality digital audio player.

In my mind, I have a phone in my pocket already and I can justify dropping a few dollars less than a high quality standalone player to enable my phone to double as the player, which then mated with the Mojo arguably gives me a better solution anyway.

Many users of these players were also strapping external DACs or headphone amps to them anyway. With this, there is no need. Mojo does it all, and very well.

The lack of Bluetooth does not concern me. It's an inferior platform. I used it at home with Hugo, but then for me Hugo was way too big to be carting around anyway.

If I was content using Bluetooth then I would be just as content plugging 'phones straight into my phone.

If I use my Hugo at home I use a cable, for headphones it's always been Bluetooth pureky for convenience.

Similar to squeezebox I guess, love my LP's but sometimes the SB is an easier/safer option

I reckon this will sell like hotcakes - the risk is that it cannibalises the Hugo market

I think this may take the overrated title over the Hugo when it comes out imo. Thinking out loud here.

What are the connections for outputting to home audio, headphone jack to RCA?

You guessed it @@Sime. It's not enough to entice me to try it.

I like love it in its intended application and also as a DAC/headphone amp for my laptop while sitting at the desk.

I have an OPPO HA-2 which has been great as a dac/headphone amp for use with my iphone 5S.  I use TIDAL (and offline content pre-stored) and also the ONKYO HF Player for other audio files (flac, hi-res and DSD).

Lately, I have also started to plug the line-out output into the car stereo aux input.  WOW - the car stereo never sounded so good.  I can only imagine what the dac in the car CD player is like, as the phone is a better source IMO when coupled with the OPPO HA-2 DAC.

I suspect the MOJO will have similar characteristics for in-car use - a step change in audio quality.  Will be interested to see what SNA experience is with this.
