It also tells you how great these higher spec Integra AVR's are, with Denon, Anthem and Yamaha I needed an external DAC. Edited October 23, 2017 by powerav 1 1

No point in posting photos now though, only an avr and speakers. 1

A good 2 channel system doesn't need 5.1 though...

Yes and the higher spec ones have the better power supply I suppose or that’s what those in the know base these things on. I’ll be getting an DSPeaker for the 2 subs so should improve things as well.

Essentially it's the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 Sub EQ HT from the higher end Denon/Marantz and Integra/Onkyos without the speaker EQ. You do need a Windows laptop or PC near your rig though From memory the 2 lower DSPeaker models (8033C & 8033S-ii) do not handle dual subs independently, I'm pretty sure you need to go to the more expensive dual core 2.0 http://www.dspeaker.com/en/technology/anti-mode-technology/anti-mode-20-dual-core-connection-examples.shtml for that - I'm not 100% though - just remember reading something like that when I was looking into them

powerav Posted October 23, 2017 Author Posted October 23, 2017 (edited) Ha just searching SVS AS-EQ1 vs Antimode and i come across this comment, exactly my thoughts that no one agrees to here. Some one told them to just get a Denon or Marantz with Audyssey built in. "I tried this route myself, but didn't agree with what Audyssey did to the other speakers. Since Audyssey is all or nothing, I got rid of the new receiver. It worked great on the sub, though." and this. "It made my other speakers sound very small and "thin". No mid frequencies at all, and with a very harsh top end (tried two different sets of speakers). As Mjaudio pointed out in the post above yours, you have to setup Audyssey correctly. I ran it so many times and so many different ways based on my reading here, but it always had the same results. Measurements taken afterward showed a boost in the 1-5khz range, which basically sounded awful. Some people like what it does, some don't.As far as the sub goes, it works beautifully on that. My subs response never measured flatter, and with very minimal decay times. I really wanted to like it because of what it did for the sub channel, but couldn't live with the sound from the other speakers." Edited October 23, 2017 by powerav

jamiebosco Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Yeah its not for everyone, Gene at Audioholics likes how it handles the under 300hz range - not so much above that. I've read others say the similar. Seems to be a love or hate thing I personally love it, even after dialling in my speaker/seating positioning and room acoustics I much prefer the sound with it ON instead of OFF

It depends. You have one up front and one at the rear yeah? If so you'd either need independent delays on the subs or at the least a calibrated microphone plus REW and use the rear subs phase dial to dial it in, having them equidistant from the MLP will help too If you're primarily concerned about a single seat/MLP you might still get good results with both PB1000s at the front relatively close to the mains. In that case the 8033s-ii would be perfect.

You never tried the Exposure integrated you had with a good quality DAC. I'm happy that you feel you are finally settled on what you want/need, but please don't try to undermine the hoards of correct advise you've chosen to turn your back on.
