Enjoying all my old DVD concerts over again and they sound incredible with 2 properly set up subs and no Audyssey processing mucking things up.

New house, new room. This room much smaller than previous so I was bit concerned but I honestly finding it much better, easier to furnish and add room treatment. Not much change in the equipment except for the 4 in ceiling speakers to make it a 5.2.4 and a Pro-ject s2 dac which I really like. Updates that are needed is a new screen as it got damaged while in storage for 15 months and maybe a power amp or integrated amp but I’m pretty happy with the Integra so that’s not so important for a while.IMG_2093.jpgIMG_2092.jpgIMG_2094.jpgIMG_2095.jpgIMG_2352.jpgIMG_2353.jpgIMG_2354.jpgIMG_2356.jpgIMG_2357.jpgIMG_2359.jpgIMG_2358.jpgIMG_2360.jpgIMG_2363.jpgIMG_2362.jpg

Yes I agree, the last room I painted ceilings black and it made a huge improvement but not going to worry this time as the room is used 95% of time with the kids on fortnite and the rest is me with music.
Thanks for the welcome back and thanks to Marc for the get out of jail card although I have an ankle bracelet on which is understandable.

Not sure if it’s the antimode dsp for the subs or the room treatment or even the hebel walls but walking outside and with some pretty bass heavy music playing on a reasonable level I can only just hear it standing close to outside wall so that makes me very comfortable for late night listening sessions

Welcome back.

FYI, have switched from Anthem AVR to NAD with Dirac Live but spending a lot less time on HT, much more on music...

Are now as much of a fan of NAD as you were of Anthem? I would really like to try a NAD, I like the idea of the add on modules and especially the blusound add on.

Anthem basically priced themselves out when I considered my upgrade plus there were a few issues with the quality of my friend's unit & others. With a sale price below $2K, it was significantly cheaper than the Anthem MRX-720 and with more power.

Dirac Live is about the same as Anthem Room Correction for movies and better for music.  Add on modules in theory should make upgrades easier, but ask me again in 3 years time.

BluOS was a pleasant surprise and I used it for music when the 2 channel system was not available.  Not bad for a one box solution.

Have been recommending the NAD T58V3 as a good value AVR.

Why?

1 for Kodi (movies/music videos) and 1 for HQplayer music.

Pardon the lockdown mess as the kids have made it their home but I have happily joined the Magnepan family, Magnepan.7s and more room treatment.

While I have still regularly rotated equipment on a regular basis the one piece of equipment which has made a noticeable difference to sound and video quality is the Zappiti One 4K, this really has made a big difference to my main source of musical enjoyment in Bluray concerts and Bluray Audios.

Trying to tidy it up but raspberry Pi’s don’t make things easy with the side power port. Making room on the right side of AVR for a second Apart power amp to run as 2 mono amps.

Latest addition to the room is a diy diffuser panel. Wow and no it’s not a wow for sound improvement (haven’t tested it) but a WOW for how hard and time consuming it was to make. I can see why they are so expensive, a lot of work goes into them.

I would have thought maggies would need much more room from the front wall.

Easy to slide in and out when needed with my customised base.

Sound diffusers built and installed, paint still wet, haven’t listened yet to hear a difference.

Now I know that diffuser and absorption panels work.

There was definitely a difference, sounds more lively compared to when I had all absorption panels much bassier,  I felt compelled to turn the gain up on the subs which I did and it is better.

I’ll continue to test over the next couple of days.
