Hello guys! this is Charles from Supreme Sound Audio, a Burson audio subsidiary. We are an Australian based audio company.

It has been 10 years since we released the first generation of discrete opamp module, today after 5 generations of development the team has released the most beautiful sounding and most polished creation the V5 SS opamp.

Compared to the Gen 4 SS op-amp which already been called one of the best sounding by many audiophiles around the world, the V5 requires less voltage and current. Which translates to higher level of performance when applied to most audio applications.

We would like to invite fellow DIYer and Audiophiles to try the new V5 opamp in their projects at no charge.

To apply please take the following steps:

**Please post an external view of your current gear

**Please post an top down internal photo of your current gear. (see example below)

**Stocked Op-amp model in the unit.

**Brand and model of the unit you plan to use.

Round 1:

We will select a few guys from the thread to send the free sample. (We will also announce selected participants on this thread)

Once all the participants have posted their impressions and project photos, we will have the next rounds. That means, more people will be able to participate and try the new V5.

What is/are the voltage parameters that is required for the opamps to work on? Some circuits will exhibit some in the market opamps to oscillate and put off heat due to mis-match voltage, current draw or lack of class a biasing or tantalum capacitor bypass of the opamp itself, will the V5 SS opamp be a safe drop in any circuit with a SOIC 8 socket?

As an opamp rolling connoisseur, I'am vastly interested in this.

G'day all, this is all very interesting but I strongly suspect that nothing would better the OPA2134 in your Mimic!  Regards, Felix.

G'day mate, well yes!  I've never really resolved the whole op amp 'sound' question to my personal satisfaction, made worse by my belief that op amp 'sound' is somewhat influenced by the circuit being used.  It gets 'complex'!  Regards, Felix.

@@catman, The more reason to try it out, don't you think?

I'd be driving with the top down using it with the lid open, but in a controlled environment.

Yep, our V5 will certainly work in your project there, the only concern is that you may not be able to close the top cover. :)

I can live with that!

I have been busting to try out descrete OAMPs for years but have never been able to workout where to buy them. Should I receive one I would build a supper expensive Mimic - "Mimic Supreme" and ensure that the enclosure used accommodates the descrete OPAMP.

I would love to try  SSA opamp in my diy AK4495 DAC. Dac is fed by a pc based music server via an Amanero USB- I2S board.

Currently the dac uses a AD827jn opamp.

The Blackgate caps at the opamp will be moved to accomadate the larger footprint of the SSA should I be successful :party .

Just curious mate, what DAC board are you using fed with the Amanero, or is it DIY? I've had the same idea for a while.... Do you also have Coax/optical?

Hi BC , here is the link to the board I am using : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Upgraded-version-of-Assembled-AK4495EQ-II2S-DAC-board-support-32BIT-768K-decoder-/121606408978?hash=item1c504e8b12:g:8tgAAOSwBahVTWew

The computer dac is only usb input but I use the same I2S input dac board with  this COAX input board : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AK4118-Fiber-96KHZ-Coaxial-192KHZ-USB-Receiver-Board-LT1963EQ-3-3-I2S-/121673387328?hash=item1c544c8d40 for my disc spinner.

It is possible to combine USB and coax -I2S using the I2S switch from Twisted Pear audio. I have the TP switch but haven't got round to implementing it yet : http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/control/otto.aspx

Hello

As discussed via PM

Devices I would like to up grade (another Mimic :) ) although the STX sound card pictured is done already, with plans to do another one, for another system about to be completed.

edit

Have experimented with OP amp retro fitting over the years and would definitely recommend embarking on whipping the lid off you pre amps and upgrading, the improvements to SQ with a "no compromise" OPA is amazing, an unveiling to say the least, better bass control and overall clarity/sound stage depth, separation and detail.

Regards
