AEQUO AUDIO IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH

Aequo Audio has been busy in preparation for this year's High End Show in Munich.
Its launch of the rather swish looking Stilla speaker was swiftly followed by two new speakers priced at both ends of the audio spectrum.
Having made it crystal clear Aequo Audio is a force to be reckoned with, the new models are called the Gladium and the Diluvium.
Dunno' what either name signifies, but we applaud Aequo’s creativity and class when assigning names to speakers.
The Gladium’s name rolls off the tongue, but it’s been built to please the ears and not the palette.
The big news about the Gladium is that it’s the brand’s first passive speaker. Aequos loves to do the active thing with all its other models. Maybe this one is a foretaste of what’s to come.
The Gladium will be priced at about $17,000 in Australia. It’s solidly built with a 30mm thick baffle, equipped with what Aequos says are state of the art drivers.
The Gladium’s three drivers are described as super-fast, with very low distortion. The three drivers are directly derived from the brand’s more costly Ensis and Stilla speakers.
The Diluvium also has a classy ring to its name. And classy it is because it's Aequo Audio’s all-out assault on what a high-end loudspeaker should be.
The Diluvium is equipped with five drivers including an 11-inch, 13-inch and an 8-inch upper bass driver. Cost is expected to be more than $100,000. However, local availability for either speaker hasn’t been finalised as yet.
We're itching to hear these when the show officially opens Thursday.
See Aequo Audio at the Melbourne International HiFi Show, October 12-14, 2018 at the Pullman Mercure Hotel, Albert Park.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
