Audeze Announces Euclid Closed-Back Planar IEM

Audeze launches its first closed-back planar in-ear monitors, named Euclid.
The Audeze Euclid takes the Californian-company's headphone know-how and puts it in closed-back in-ear design that features precision-milled aluminium casings and the highest dynamic range in their class, according to the brand.
Naturally, the Euclid are packing Audeze's patented technologies such as Uniforce voice coils and Fazor waveguides, all of which work together to produce the manufacturer's signature sound from the 18mm planar magnetic drivers with a quoted 10Hz – 50kHz frequency range.
According to the spec sheet, the Euclid is further blessed with 105 dB/mW efficiency and a max SPL well over 120dB leading the brand to boast that this hands the Euclid "the highest dynamic range of any in-ear in their size category."
The drivers sit in an aluminium body finished with a carbon fibre insert and matt black finish which all tips the scales at 7.5g a side. We expect a comfortable fit too, thanks to the 5mm diameter sound port and range of Spin-Fit Silicone and Comply Foam ear tips that come bundled with the Euclid.
The Audeze Euclid feature gold plated MMCX connections and is delivered with a 3.5mm tangle-free braided cable. However, there will soon be an option for Bluetooth and 4.4mm balanced cables slated to arrive in March this year.
The Audeze Euclid are available now for £1,249.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
