Audionet Expands Scientist Series with Mach Preamp and Schrödinger Mono Blocks

Pure Music Group has announced the latest additions to Audionet’s prestigious Scientist Series: the Audionet Schrödinger Mono Block Amplifiers and the Audionet Mach Preamplifier.
These new models continue the legacy of the brand’s highly acclaimed Heisenberg and Stern flagships, delivering the same high standard of engineering and sonic excellence but at a more accessible price point.
Designed from the ground up while retaining the DNA of their elite counterparts, the Mach and Schrödinger components showcase Audionet’s renowned Floating Panel Design. This patented construction technique isolates the chassis panels to minimise unwanted resonance and vibration-induced distortions, ensuring pristine signal integrity. The industrial aesthetics remain consistent with Hartmuth Esslinger's award-winning design language, lending these new models a striking yet purposeful visual identity.
Having made their first appearance in prototype form at Munich High-End 2024, the Mach Preamplifier and Schrödinger Mono Blocks have now undergone their final refinements. With production now in full swing, the first Australian deliveries have been completed, and stock is readily available for demonstration through authorised Audionet retailers.
The Mach Preamplifier shapes up as a technical tour de force, employing a dual mono circuit layout for superior channel separation. Enhanced discrete operational amplifier modules, borrowed from the Stern, are paired with state-of-the-art mica capacitors to ensure an uncoloured, highly transparent sound signature. Volume control is managed via a precision resistor network, regulated through electronic switches and an optical sensing system.
This DC-coupled design eliminates capacitors and coils from the signal path, maintaining an unbroken transmission of audio purity. The power supply features a total capacitance of 176,000 µF, utilising low-impedance capacitors with a silk dielectric for maximum performance stability.
Equally impressive, the Schrödinger Mono Block Amplifiers embody absolute channel separation, further enhanced by Audionet’s proprietary Ultra Linear Amplifier (ULA) technology. Designed with magnetically and capacitively optimised circuitry free from ferromagnetic materials, these amplifiers promise unmatched precision and musicality.
Their power delivery is equally formidable, featuring two encapsulated and decoupled 1,200 VA toroidal transformers dedicated to the power stage. A total capacitance of 160,000 µF ensures a steady and unyielding current flow, supporting output figures of 400 watts into 8 ohms, 750 watts into 4 ohms, and an astonishing 1,200 watts into 2 ohms. With a damping factor exceeding 10,000 at 100 Hz, it’s easy to see how the companies claim that these monoblocks exert absolute control over loudspeakers, delivering exceptional detail retrieval and an effortless dynamic range.
Both models have a two-year warranty and are available for audition through authorised Audionet dealers. The Audionet Mach Preamplifier is priced at A$47,950, while the Audionet Schrödinger Mono Block Amplifier is priced at A$92,500 for the pair. Global pricing is yet to be confirmed.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
