AVM CB 2.3 Loudspeaker Launched Alongside New All-In-One at High End 2023

AVM unveiled its first compact loudspeaker Audition CB 2.3 and the CS 30.3 All-In-One CD Receiver with AVM-X-Stream Engine at the Drivers & Business Club, Munich.

AVM took the wrappers off two significant new products at the High End Munich Show 2023, with Udo Besser introducing the company's first 'Compact Box' loudspeaker, the Audition CB 2.3.

The German high-end audio brand took the opportunity to reinforce its "Back to the Living Room" mantra during the press launch of these two new products displaying a range of hi-fi options in homely settings, helping visitors to rediscover inspiring synergies between the best sound and stylish interior design in an exclusive living room environment.

AUDITION CB 2.3

The Audition CB 2.3 is a compact 2-way speaker combining the technical expertise of renowned loudspeaker specialist Karl-Heinz Fink with AVM's sonic and aesthetic vision.

The sleek, uncluttered lines of the Audition CB 2.3 enables 345x238x230 mm (HxWxD) high-gloss lacquered cabinet with a silver anodised aluminium front panel to fit into most interior designs.

The 2-way reflex design incorporates a 160mm sandwich woofer and a dome tweeter with a fabric diaphragm crossing over at 1850Hz. The result, we are told, is a 37Hz-50kHz frequency range, with 88dB/1W (2,83V) sensitivity and a claimed 140W power capacity. The rear-ported cabinet is also bi-wirable.

The solid front baffles serve aesthetic purposes as well as broadening the sound's directivity to effectively enhance the "stereo triangle". Additionally, the aluminium front provides a stable front positioning edge and acoustic decoupling of the low-resonance cabinet made of ultra-high-density fibre material.

Finally, the integrated tilt mechanism of Audition CB 2.3 allows for optimal adjustment of the directivity, such as when placed below the ideal listening level.

AVM CS 30.3 ALL-IN-ONE CD RECEIVER

The CS 30.3 All-In-One is AVM's latest addition to its popular compact streamer (CS) series.

AVM CS 30.3

The CS 30.3 offers an all-inclusive package that provides an entertainment hub for modern living rooms and boasts 2 x 125 watts output, a CD player and a generous range of analogue and digital inputs and outputs, including MM/MC phono input and HDMI ARC, as well as an integrated AVM X-Stream Engine and AVM RoomConneXion Multiroom function.

The 10x34x32cm (HxWxD) CS 30.3 benefits from the sonic technologies of AVM's largest all-in-one flagship, the CS 8.3. We're told that these have been miniaturised and integrated into a beautifully designed, screwless precision housing with AVM's signature brushed aluminium front.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
