BLUESOUND BECOMES MORE AFFORDABLE

It’s not often we have the pleasure of reporting on price reductions in the Hi-Fi business.
And while the category pioneer, Sonos, does battle with HEOS in the courts, relative newcomer but well-established Bluesound has announced some impressive savings for its customers.
From the 20th March 2018, Australian distributor Convoy has realigned the Bluesound brand pricing to be in line with international markets.
Geoff Matthews, CEO of Convoy told StereoNET:
Today the consumer has access to a global retail market which is ever competitive. Accordingly, we have seized the opportunity to ensure our award-winning Bluesound products remain the preferred multi-room, high-res audio system, and allowing us to introduce our award-winning Pulse Soundbar and unique Vault to even more audio enthusiasts.
Musical Fidelity and its Australian distributor, Audio Marketing, also announced a similar restructuring of select ranges and products recently, also citing what is now a global marketplace for consumers.
As Sonos and HEOS argue over who was first with technologies in the wireless multiroom audio space, Bluesound who was first to bring Hi-Res audio capability to the market have continued to increase in popularity.
Its audiophile-grade wireless speakers and digital music players allow you to stream all your music wirelessly to every room in your home, all controlled conveniently from your smartphone or tablet.
The substantial price reductions include up to $300 off in some cases.
For example, Bluesound Node 2 is now $100 cheaper at $899. The Bluesound Powernode 2 ($1,399) and the Bluesound Vault 2 ($1,999) have both had $200 shaved from their price. The big winner is the award-winning Pulse Soundbar which is $300 cheaper at $1,499 (black) or $1,599 (white). Read our review here.
Matthews continued:
We’re delighted that our continued growth means that we can pass on these savings to our customers.
Convoy has been importing and distributing consumer electronics to the Australian market for over 50 years.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
