The RC1 controller, which is an optional extra, will give users of Bluesound's Gen 2 and Gen 2i products access to the most commonly used playback controls such as track forward and backward, volume up and down, play or pause, as well as up to 10 custom presets.

Bluesound RC1

Unlike other IR remote controls that require programming and set-up, the RC1 is designed to work straight out of the box with any Gen 2 or Gen 2i Bluesound player. Of course, there is some set needed if you want to assign functions to the two programmable buttons on the device.

Furthermore, to avoid any clashes, the matte black controller has no less than eight IR channels to choose from. The aluminium central cursor key is also a nice touch.

Works with NAD Electronics

Additionally, the RC1 will work with BluOS Enabled products from sister brand, NAD Electronics. This means that you can use the remote with components including the Masters M50.2 Digital Music Player, Masters M10 BluOS Streaming Amplifier, C 658 BluOS Streaming DAC (coming soon), and several products from the Custom Install line. BluOS Enabled products are those with BluOS built-in, while BluOS Ready products are those with BluOS added through NAD Electronics' future-proof Modular Design Concept (MDC).

Price and availability

Bluesound's RC1 will be available from December 1st, at a suggested retail price of £49/€69.
