Certified for Envy Program

madVR's Certified for Envy ensures Envy Pro and Envy Extreme compliance and meets highest video performance standards.

Product Certification is certainly nothing new to the Home Theatre community. Providing a minimum standard of performance for products gives consumers the peace of mind that their latest acquisition will not only perform to a guaranteed standard but be compatible with the latest components.

madVR Labs, creators of the madVR Envy Pro and Envy Extreme Video Processors, have just announced the launch of their own certification program. The Certified for Envy Program ensures that AV products are not only compatible with the Envy Pro and Envy Extreme but meet the highest standards of video performance.

In addition to working with manufacturers beforehand, madVR has developed a specialised suite of tests and an in-house testing platform. The program will cover products such as projectors, displays, media players and HDMI equipment; Acurus, Storm, and Trinnov Audio are the first manufacturers to be granted Certified for Envy status in the AVR/AVP category.

Each product completed and passed over 1,1000 tests to achieve certification, with the Acurus receiving gold certification and the Storm and Trinnov earning Platinum certification. Not only were they required to pass through video sources without introducing video artefacts or degrading video quality, but they had to do so at various pixel formats, bit depths, resolutions and frame rates, including 1080p frame-packed 3D.

More information on the Cerfified for Envy Program can be found at www.madvrenvy.com, whilst manufacturers interested in participating in the program can enquire at certify@madvr.com.

Stay tuned as StereoNET will publish an in-depth review of the madVR Envy Extreme Video Processor shortly.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
