CHORD ELECTRONICS DEBUTS NAMM 2019

Chord Electronics is to make its NAMM show debut as it celebrates 30 years of UK audio manufacturing.

The award-winning amplification and digital audio specialist is taking their studio-proven tech to NAMM for the first time.

Chord Electronics 30th Anniversary

Great Britain's Chord Electronics, the world-leading digital audio conversion and amplification specialist, will be making its NAMM show debut this month as it celebrates 30 years of UK audio equipment manufacturing in both the consumer and Pro Audio worlds.

Based in Kent, England, the British company will be bringing several of its multi-award-winning studio-proven DAC/headphone amplifiers to NAMM, with the company's senior team, including Owner, MD and Chief Designer, John Franks, in attendance.

The company, which has exclusively designed, engineered and manufactured in Great Britain since its formation in 1989, produces a range of proprietary-technology high-performance digital and analogue audio products, which are active in a number of leading studios and production facilities around the world, including Abbey Road, Metropolis Studios, Air Studios and Sony Music.

Chord Electronics' booth (#10627) will feature many critically acclaimed devices: the portable Mojo DAC/headphone amplifier (£399), transportable Hugo 2 DAC/headphone amp/preamp (£1,800) and the recently launched desktop Hugo TT2 DAC/headphone amp/preamp (£3,996).

Chord Electronics is widely known for its class-leading proprietary technology in both its DACs and amplifiers. Its unique ultra-high-frequency power supply technology, developed from avionics, was conceived in the mid-1980s and then evolved into a well-received amplifier; the BBC becoming its first ever customer for a qualified outside broadcast unit.

Today, the company offers four dedicated Pro Audio amplifiers in addition to a wide range of domestic stereo and mono solutions.

The company's proprietary DAC technology, developed over more than two decades by its Digital Design Consultant, is arguably the most of advanced of its kind in the world and uses custom-coded FPGAs to deliver unrivalled resolution in a low-distortion environment, making it desirable for both domestic and professional use. Chord Electronics' DACs continue to dominate hi-fi's most prominent awards event.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
