Dynaudio’s Symphony Opus One - A Soundbar For Mega TVs
Dynaudio's new Dolby Atmos soundbar is a multi-speaker, all-in-one home cinema solution.
Dynaudio's Symphony Opus One is a massive, 73-inch-long high-end soundbar packed with twenty-four drivers and 1500W of amplification.
The Danish premium audio brand Dynaudio has a proven track record in homes and professional studios alike. It now has set its sights on making more waves in the home cinema sector next year, unveiling its soundbar concept ahead of CES 2025. This high-spec model is an evolution of the one shown at CEDIA Expo 2024 and boasts a premium feature set and an equally premium price.
Measuring 73 inches wide and consisting of an aluminium alloy frame covered with a tactile, Nordic-inspired fabric, Dynaudio says the soundbar is suitable for TVs 83 inches and larger. The Symphony Opus One represents Dynaudio's vision for the future of all-in-one home audio and hopes to match the zeitgeist of TVs measuring 100 inches plus.
The Symphony Opus One boasts 24 drivers, including six soft-dome tweeters, 14 mid/bass drivers, and four innovative dual-diaphragm force-cancelling subwoofers. Dynaudio claims that the drivers in this soundbar are the same high-quality components found in its premium loudspeakers, car audio systems, and studio reference monitors.
The abundance of drivers demands substantial amplification. Here, Dynaudio has provisioned a claimed 1500W of "digital amplification", which works in concert with the company's proprietary spatial-audio processing algorithms to widen the soundstage and create an immersive surround sound experience.
The soundbar features 72 individually motorised white-oak wood fins, which are said to be both functional and stylish. In addition to adding a striking visual element, these fins may move depending on which listening mode you select.
There are four listening modes on the Symphony Opus One: Authentic mode, which promises true stereo audio for pure hi-fi music reproduction; Soundstage mode, which widens the stereo mix for an expanded sense of scale; Immersive mode is said to deliver native Dolby Atmos using sound-beaming techniques to project audio throughout the room; and DeepDive mode for a virtual sound environment, providing an immersive bubble of sound regardless of where you sit.
Finally, the brand hopes to release a wireless subwoofer and surround speakers to complement this luxurious soundbar.
The Symphony Opus One is expected to continue development into 2025, with a projected launch price of USD$20,000. The final price may vary depending on options, as Dynaudio intends to offer a range of premium material choices.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
