Elipson Debuts Planet W35 and Legacy 3230 Speakers

Elipson is using The Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2020 for the UK launch of its W35 and Legacy 3230 speakers.
The French audio firm has chosen this year's Bristol Show to launch two of their most eagerly anticipated products, spanning the latest technology as well as more conventional speaker design.
Elipson Legacy 3230
Receiving its UK debut is the flagship from Elipson's new Legacy Series, the 3230.
The Parisienne brand states that the Legacy 3230 (£7,490) is the ultimate in high-end audio, and the floor-standers indeed appear to have a physical presence to match their promised performance.
The French-made Legacy 3230 is a 3-way, 50kg speaker featuring a pair of 21cm aluminium surfaced cellulose pulp speakers providing the lows whereas a 16cm midrange ceramic driver and wide dispersion AMT ribbon tweeter sit in their own resin sphere up top. The design is good for 25Hz-30kHz frequency response and 91db sensitivity. Impedance is rated at 4 Ohms, all according to the datasheet.
You can pick from walnut or silver oak finishes for the cabinet, the resin sphere is black satin, no matter what.
Elipson W35
As we reported back in November, the W35 is Elipson's latest addition to its spherical Planet Series.
This powerful, 350W wireless multi-room loudspeaker boasts the latest wireless technology housed within a stunningly unique design.
The omnidirectional soundstage comes courtesy of centrally mounted 25mm tweeters and a pair of 165mm mid/bass drivers. The central band is home for controls as well as the onboard amplifier.
Naturally, the multiroom-capable W35 plays nice with High-Res audio as well as Amazon Alexa devices - so voice control is also supported. Additionally, the W35 as its own app that unlocks native connectivity with Spotify Connect, Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, Napster and internet radio.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
